This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the evolution, current state, and prospects for harmonizing vehicle certification systems in the People's Republic of China and the Russian Federation. The study covers the historical period from the 1980s to the present, examining the technical and legal aspects of certification in detail. Particular attention is paid to a comparative analysis of the regulatory frameworks, certification procedures, environmental standards, and safety requirements of Russia and China. Based on the identified patterns and trends, specific recommendations are developed for converging the standards of the two countries, taking into account the modern challenges of the automotive industry and the prospects for the development of transport technologies. A separate section describes the differences between the vehicle certification systems of Russia and China, which may pose obstacles to the organization of the standards harmonization procedure.
