Abstract
Problem. The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in education, including higher education, is currently a subject of much debate due to its contradictory effects. On the one hand, AI enhances the efficiency of pedagogical practices by automating routine tasks in the educational process. On the other hand, learners quite frequently use AI to complete intermediate and final assessment tasks, copying generated content without verifying the data and subsequently acquiring the necessary knowledge and skills. Uncontrolled use of AI in education can negatively impact the qualification level of university graduates. The aim of the study is to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the perception of artificial intelligence by various participants in the learning process, the frequency of its use in daily practices, identify the problems arising from it, and develop recommendations for improving educational processes with its use. Methodology. Within the framework of this study, a survey was conducted among students, instructors, and specialists in educational process organization from seven higher education and research institutions. Results. The study results confirmed the widespread penetration of artificial intelligence tools into the educational environment, especially within the student segment. During the survey, respondents also highlighted the main problems in using this technology, including inaccurate answers (hallucinations), a decrease in critical thinking, cheating, or plagiarism. Participants identified the conditions for AI's usefulness as a supplementary tool, as well as the skills necessary for students to maximize the results obtained from using this tool in contemporary realities. Based on the conducted research, the authors proposed recommendations for improving the educational process in higher education institutions: develop and approve an internal university regulation on the use of artificial intelligence; develop and implement courses on the ethical use of this technology for faculty and students; develop assignments that involve AI use; ensure equal access for faculty and students to verified AI platforms; within the framework of the national projects "Education" and "Digital Economy," monitor the implementation of this technology in universities, with a focus on economic specialties. Practical Application. The results of this research can be used in other studies. The proposed recommendations can be applied in the activities of higher education institutions and vocational colleges.
